Coconut Chutney: A Creamy and Flavourful Condiment

Coconut chutney is a popular South Indian condiment that’s known for its creamy texture and nutty flavor. It’s often served with idli, dosa, and sambar.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Grind ingredients: Combine the grated coconut, green chilies, tamarind paste, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt in a blender or a wet grinder. Add water gradually until you reach the desired consistency.
  2. Adjust taste: Taste the chutney and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Tips:

  • For a smoother chutney, add a little more water.
  • For a spicier chutney, add more green chilies.
  • You can add a little jaggery or sugar for a sweeter taste.
  • Serve the coconut chutney with idli, dosa, or sambar.
